World Disability Day | Nisha Gupta, an inspirational parapalegic sports woman

Nisha Gupta's story is an inspirational one. At 29, she lives with two wheels and a million dreams. She is a tattoo artist and also participates in swimming, dance, fashion shows, marathon and has several awards as recognition.

Gupta, met with an accident when she was 18, while plucking mangoes. With injuries on her head and spine, three months after the accident she was told that she would be a paraplegic for life. Instead of motivating her, people demoralised her.

However, the turning point came when she met Dr. Anil Gaur, who referred her to Nina Foundation. When she went for spinal cord injury awareness program at Wellingkar College organized by Nina Foundation, she received support and help to pursue what she liked.

Several awards and medals show Gupta's resolve to beat her disability. She has accepted her injuries and faces people with confidence. This is her new life and she has decided to make it count.
