Afghan Taliban wages war against Pakistan; Massive shelling in Balochistan, 7 civilians dead

Deadly cross-border shelling by Afghan Taliban at a Pakistani border town on Sunday killed 7 civilians, according to Pakistan's military. The violence hitting Chaman in Balochistan is the latest in a series of incidents and attacks that have skyrocketed tensions between Islamabad and Afghanistan's Taliban rulers. In Afghanistan, a spokesman for Kandahar’s governor linked the clashes with the construction of new checkpoints on the Afghan side of the border. He said one Taliban fighter was killed and 10 were wounded.
