‘Agnipath’ stir spreads in 7 Indian states; Rajnath appeals to army aspirants

- Unprecedented pan-India violence against 'Agnipath' scheme. Angry army aspirants resorted to vandalism and arson in several states like Bihar, U.P, M.P, Haryana, West Bengal & Telangana. In Telangana's Secunderabad, an angry mob set ablaze a train at the railway station. They also vandalised several stalls. Similar scenes were witnessed in U.P's Ballia where arsonists set a train on fire. Several state roadways buses were also vandalised in Varanasi. In Haryana's Jind and M.P's Indore, protesters blocked railway tracks. Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has appealed to the youth to start preparing for the 'Agniveer' exams.
