- Buildings, monuments across India were lit up in tricolour ahead of Independence Day. Parliament House, North Block & South Block were illuminated in Tricolour on Friday. The inner circle of Delhi's iconic Connaught Place was also completely illuminated. In Mumbai, CSMT & BMC building were lit up in Tricolour as part of I-Day celebrations. On August 15, 1947, India had achieved independence after years of struggle. This year, India gears up to celebrate the 75th year of the country's Independence.
