Cyclone Yaas: Destruction in parts of Bengal, CM Mamata reviews preparedness

• Destruction reported in parts of West Bengal as the state braces for Cyclone Yaas. Several areas including Halisahar, Naihati in North 24 Parganas witnessed destruction. Meanwhile, CM Mamata Banerjee visited the cyclone control room to review arrangements. Guv Jagdeep Dhankhar too visited Regional Met Centre in Kolkata to review preparations. As per IMD, Cyclone Yaas is going to intensify into a very severe storm in the next 12 hours. Nearly 9 lakh people have been evacuated and shifted to relief centres in West Bengal. Severe cyclone Yaas is expected to hit the West Bengal-Odisha coast on Wednesday noon. The storm is likely to make landfall with wind speeds of up to 185 kilometre/hour.
