Elon Musk’s ‘buying Manchester United’ tweet causes online frenzy; fans confused

After his failed Twitter bid left him in a legal battle, Elon Musk said he's buying the English football club Manchester United. As his announcement amassed a huge response, Musk rescinded his statement calling it 'a long running joke on twitter'. Fans of the most-valued football club have expressed disgruntlement over their club's declining fortunes of late. The tweet comes even as the Tesla CEO is embroiled in a legal battle with Twitter over a failed acquisition bid.
