Rakesh Asthana took charge as the Commissioner of Delhi Police on Wednesday. Asthana was previously the Director-General of Border Security Force and the Chief of NCB. A 1984-batch IPS officer from Gujarat cadre, Asthana was appointed as Delhi police chief, three days before he was to superannuate.
