Independence Day: Slain terrorist Burhan Wani's father hoists tricolour in J&K

Muzaffar Wani, the father of slain terrorist Burhan Wani, reportedly hoisted the tricolour at a government school in Tral on the occasion of India's 75th Independence Day. Burhan Wani was a member of Pakistan-backed terror group Hizbul Mujahideen, and was killed in an encounter with Indian security forces in July 2016. Independence Day was celebrated with fervour in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir. A 100-ft-tall tricolour was installed at the historic Hari Parbat fort in Srinagar. J&K Lieutenant Governor hoisted the flag at the Sher-i-Kashmir stadium. Flag hoisting and performance of the national anthem was also reportedly conducted at the zero bridge in Srinagar, and the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora.
