India slams Pak over ‘alarming’ surge in Indian prisoner deaths

  • MEA on Friday said that six Indian prisoners had died in Pakistan in the last nine months. Expressing concern over the 'alarming' situation, MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that New Delhi has raised the issue with Islamabad. He noted that there has been a surge in the number of deaths of Indian fishermen in recent times. India reiterated that Pakistan is duty-bound to ensure the security of all Indians in its custody.
