Indian Army's 50 women officers to head troops guarding China border soon

The Indian Army will deploy women officers to command roles for the first time soon. 50 women officers are set to head units in operational areas, including forward locations, in the operationally critical Northern and Eastern Commands. This is Army's bid to bring gender parity in officer cadre. The development comes a month after 108 women officers of Lieutenant Colonel rank were promoted to Colonel rank and given a permanent commission. Watch this video for more details.
