2009 UPSC topper from Kashmir, Shah Faesal has said that Rishi Sunak's appointment as the UK Prime Minister might be a surprise for Pakistan and other Islamic countries where a minority can't hold top government posts. In a series of tweets, Faesal praised the Indian democracy for giving equal opportunity to all and not discriminating on the basis of ethnicity or religion. The bureaucrat cited his own journey to say that only in India can a Muslim youngster reach the top echelons of the government, have a falling out with the government, and then be rescued by the same government.
