Typhoon Dolphin approached Japan's southern remote islands on Friday, bringing strong winds, heavy rain and high waves while forcing the closure of Okinawa's main airport and grounding all flights in and out of the island. The Japan Meteorological Agency said Dolphin was near Yoron Island and moving west towards Okinawa's main island, with maximum sustained winds of 144 kph (89 mph). Okinawa officials said three men in their 70s suffered minor injuries amid the storm.
