A growing chorus of international cricket legends has voiced concern over the incarceration and reported health condition of former Pakistan Prime Minister and World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan. Indian greats Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, along with 12 other former captains, have written to the Pakistan government expressing “deep concern” about Khan’s deteriorating health. The letter urges authorities to provide “adequate medical attention” and ensure dignified treatment for the former cricketer-turned-politician. The appeal comes amid reports that Khan has allegedly lost around 85% of vision in his right eye while in custody. Signatories, including Michael Atherton, Allan Border, and Greg Chappell, emphasized that the principles of fair play, dignity, and respect should extend beyond the cricket field.
