PM Modi Dismisses Criticism Over Russia-Ukraine War Ahead Of Biden Meet, Says India “Not Neutral”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a big statement on the Russia-Ukraine war as he jets off to the United States. "We Are Not Neutral," declared PM Modi in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. The PM said that India’s top priority is peace when it comes to the war in Ukraine. PM Modi has made this strong statement just ahead of his meeting with the U.S. president. Notably, the United States and Russia are rivals, while India has good terms with both. In the first half of the Ukraine war, the U.S. made "failed" attempts to push India to end ties with Russia. However, India made it clear that trade and ties with Russia "benefit its national interest." Washington was forced to backtrack after India's declaration on Russia. Since then, the United States has turned a blind eye to India-Russia relations while strengthening its own partnership with New Delhi.
