PM Modi invokes Shivaji, Savarkar to praise Lata Mangeshkar after award

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday was honoured with the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award. PM remembered the iconic singer as an artiste who was an integral part of nation-building. PM Modi, who regarded her as his elder sister, is the first recipient of the award. The award has been instituted in memory and honour of the legendary singer who passed away at the age of 92 years in Mumbai earlier this year.
