Sharif govt imports over 2,000 luxury cars as Pakistan ‘begs’ before IMF

At a time when containers with essential commodities are piling up at Pakistan's ports, a report claims that Shehbaz Sharif government imported 2,200 luxury cars to the cash-strapped nation. Pakistan is grappling under a severe foreign exchange reserves crisis and is 'doing everything possible' to secure the IMF Bailout package. The Dawn reported that the only benefit that Pakistan has from the import of these vehicles is in the shape of duty and taxes which was nearly PKR 2 billion. However, the country spent hundreds of billions of rupees on the import of these vehicles. Watch this video for more details.
