Split in Oppn ranks? TMC skips Cong-chaired meeting on suspended Rajya Sabha MPs

• Congress leader Rahul Gandhi chaired an Opposition meeting over the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs. Leaders from 16 Oppn parties held the meet at RS LoP Mallikarjun Kharge's office at Parliament. Opposition leaders met Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu & urged him to revoke the suspension. TMC, however, skipped the meeting even though two of its MPs have also been suspended. Rajya Sabha on the first day of Winter Session on Monday suspended as many as 12 of its members. MPs have been suspended on account of 'unruly and violent behaviour' during the Monsoon Session. Suspended MPs include six from Cong, two each from TMC & Shiv Sena, one each from CPM & CPI. All 12 MPs have been suspended for the rest of the current session, ending on December 23.
