U'khand rain: Char Dham Yatra resumes after 3-day halt; death toll rises to 40

• Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand, which was halted due to rain, resumed on Wednesday. The pilgrimage was suspended from October 17-19 amid warnings of very heavy rainfall. Decision to resume the yatra came after CM Pushkar Dhami held a review meeting in Nainital. “Garwhal is almost under control, and the pilgrimage has resumed there. The resumption of the yatra takes place at a time when at least 40 people have lost their lives. Dhami, who conducted an aerial survey of Garhwal & Kumaon, said a few are also missing. NDRF has deployed 15 teams & rescued thousands from flood-affected areas of Uttarakhand.
