U.S calls Arunachal India's integral part, snubs China bid to change status quo

In a major rebuke to China for staking a claim on India's northeastern Arunachal Pradesh, the US called it 'India's integral part.' According to a bipartisan Senate resolution, the United States recognises the McMahon Line as the international boundary between China and Arunachal Pradesh. The bipartisan Senators’ resolution also condemns additional China’s provocations, including Beijing's use of military force to change the status quo along the Line of Actual Control, the construction of villages in contested areas, the publication of maps with Mandarin-language names for cities and features in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, and the expansion of PRC territorial claims in Bhutan.
