'Wanton violence': Himanta Biswa Sarma lashes out as Assam-Mizoram row escalates

War of words between ministers continued over the Assam-Mizoram border row. At least six Assam Police personnel killed and several injured as clashes and stone-pelting were reported near the border. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted a statement late night after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s intervention. “The government of Assam is committed to maintaining cordial relations and peace, while restoring neighbourly relations. It requests the state of Mizoram to restrain its people and police personnel from indulging in wanton violence, and work towards restoring peace,” read the statement. Watch the full video for more.
