Watch: 'India's stature is rising': President's message on 75th Independence Day

On the eve of India's 75th Independence Day, President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the nation and hailed India's rise in the global arena. President Kovind started his speech by lauding India's success in Tokyo Olympics 2020. He expressed condolence with the families of those who died of covid during deadly second wave. The president hailed India's doctors, healthcare workers and frontline warriors for their fight against the coronavirus. The president said that he government has been concerned about the lower middle classes and the poor, as well as about the small and medium industries and has taken several steps in this regard. The president said that a new dawn is rising in Jammu and Kashmir and urged the youth to utilise this opportunity and work on realising their aspirations through democratic institutions. He also lauded India's armed forces for safeguarding country's freedom.
