- An acid attack survivor married her long-time friend in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar. The marriage ceremony on March 1 was attended by the couple’s friends and family. Pramodini Roul, 29, got engaged to Saroj Sahoo, 30, in April 2018 in Lucknow. “I suffered an acid attack in 2009 and I met my now-husband, Saroj in 2014. I met Saroj while I was undergoing treatment, he supported me throughout the journey,” said Pramodini. Pramodini, alias Rani, was undergoing treatment when the duo met for the first time. Pramodini hails from Jagatsinghpur district while Saroj resides in Cuttack. Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal also gave blessings to the couple on their marriage. Saroj said, “Through our wedding, I want to give out a message to the entire country. An acid attack doesn’t mean the end of life, I love her and our relationship is 5 years.”
