The Delhi High Court on June 8 questioned the Centre's move to take over several historic properties in the national capital, including the iconic Delhi Gymkhana Club, Delhi Race Club and Jaipur Polo Grounds, citing concerns over the loss of green and heritage spaces in an already congested city. Hearing a petition filed by the Indian Polo Association, a vacation bench headed by Justice Neena Bansal Krishna expressed concern over plans to reclaim nearly 200-year-old properties for a stated "public purpose".
