White House Press Secretary stated India should not increase Russian energy & commodity purchases. Days after the U.S. Deputy NSA warned India against trade deals with Russia, the Biden Admin reiterated the message. Jen Psaki said 'it is not in India's interest to accelerate or increase imports of Russian energy. White House Press Secretary noted India's purchase of Russian oil only constituted 1-2% of its total energy imports. The U.S. Govt has maintained that it's 'a country's individual decision to ban imports' to put pressure on Moscow.
