A major test of wartime shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has just played out, and Japan came through with Iranian coordination. The Japanese-linked supertanker Idemitsu Maru successfully transited the strait after sitting idle off the UAE coast for more than a week, becoming the first Japan-related crude tanker to make the passage since the conflict erupted on February 28, according to multiple reports and ship-tracking data.
