Published on Feb 14, 2023 12:37 pm IST

Pakistan's dire economic state has hit its citizens hard with skyrocketing prices. Prices of daily-use items across Pakistan are on fire after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) sought more time to conclude a $1.1 billion loan tranche. People are struggling to put necessary food items on the table, such as milk and chicken, which are common principal items in Pakistani meals. The country's inflation is at a 48-year high, and foreign currency reserves cover less than a month of imports. Pakistanis say inflation has "crossed all limits," lamenting the IMF conditions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the Pakistani government would have to agree to IMF bailout conditions that are "beyond imagination." Watch this report for more.
