'Pradhan removed to save Pradhan…': Akhilesh's jibe over CJP protest| Parliament| Paper leak bill

Published on Jul 28, 2026 09:51 pm IST

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Centre during the Lok Sabha debate on the proposed anti-paper leak Bill, saying, "You sacked Pradhan to save Pradhan Mantri." Referring to the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Yadav claimed that nationwide student protests forced the government to bow to public pressure. He questioned the effectiveness of the 2024 anti-paper leak law, arguing that examination leaks continued despite its implementation. Yadav also criticised the alleged crackdown on student protesters, urged the government to fulfil its promises on examination reforms, and raised concerns over alleged irregularities in the education system and the demolition notices issued to Rampur's Jauhar University.
