Putin aide’s ‘proxy war’ charge at west as Trump pushes peace plan; ‘NATO is using Ukraine to…’

A top Russian official, Valentina Matviyenko, one of President Vladimir Putin’s closest aides and the Chair of the Federation Council, has accused Western nations of using Ukraine as a pawn in a “proxy war” aimed at weakening Russia. In her interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, Matviyenko claimed that the West “cynically orchestrated” the conflict for strategic gain, insisting that Ukraine would eventually realize how it was exploited. She reiterated that Russia seeks peace, but only one that guarantees long-term security and prevents any military threat from Ukraine. Matviyenko also said Moscow would reject any ceasefire that allows Kyiv to remain militarily aligned with NATO. Watch the video to find out more.
