Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially confirmed that the Kremlin government funded the Wagner Mercenary group with $1 billion over the years. From May 2022 to May 2023, the Wagner group was paid over 86 billion roubles ($940 million). The revelation comes days after Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin’s failed coup.
