At his “Results of the Year” marathon, Vladimir Putin claimed Russia is “not responsible” for the bloodshed in Ukraine, calling the conflict a consequence of the 2014 “coup” and Kyiv’s offensive in Donbas. He said Moscow had “practically agreed” to Donald Trump’s Anchorage peace proposals and that “the ball is entirely” in Kyiv and Europe’s court, adding: “We would very much like to live…without any military conflicts next year.” At the same time, he defended nuclear deployments in Belarus, accused NATO of breaking expansion promises, and demanded a new, inclusive European security system that “threatens no one, including us.”
