Putin to get Iran's near weapons-grade uranium behind Trump's back? | Iran, Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow is ready to transport and store Iran’s enriched uranium, reviving a key element of the 2015 nuclear agreement amid rising tensions over Tehran’s nuclear programme. Speaking in Moscow on May 9, Putin said Russia had successfully removed enriched uranium from Iran once before and could “repeat this experience” if all parties agree. He also claimed the United States later pushed for the uranium to be transferred exclusively to American territory, which he said hardened Iran’s position. The proposal adds a new geopolitical dimension to the Iran crisis as Moscow positions itself as a central player in any future nuclear settlement involving Tehran and Washington.
