UK PM mulls curbs on students from India, other nations to control migration

The United Kingdom government is concerned about the rising net migration in the country. According to a BBC report citing Downing Street, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is now considering imposing curbs to control migration. The UK may curb the entry of foreign students pursuing "low-quality" degrees in the country's institutes. According to government data, Indian students were the highest to migrate to the UK in 2022. Students from India have urged the UK government to exclude international students from immigration statistics. Remember that Indian-origin UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman also expressed concern about Indian students overstaying and bringing family members to the UK. Watch this video to learn more.
