Congress leader Rahul Gandhi mounted an attack on the Modi government, this time targeting his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, saying he saw youth of the state getting drunk in the night and wasting their future. Hitting back, Union Minister Smriti Irani accused Rahul of defaming the revered sites of Hinduism, and urged Sonia Gandhi to teach her son some manners. The verbal duel played out in Amethi which has witnessed fierce political and electoral battles between the two leaders in the last two Lok Sabha elections.
