Slow over rates would lead to penalty in IPL matches
Updated on Apr 17, 2009 08:42 pm IST
In an attempt to deliberately minimise match-time delays, the Indian Premier League has decided to levy heavy fines on teams, which resort to slow over rates. A fine of $ 20,000 will be levied on the captain for a first offence and $ 220,000 on the entire team for the second. The third offence will result in a team fine of $ 360,000 and a one-match ban for the captain.
