Thailand’s foreign minister has welcomed a trilateral meeting with Cambodia and China aimed at easing a deadly border dispute that has killed more than 100 people and displaced hundreds of thousands. Held in southwest China, the talks followed a new ceasefire agreement signed days earlier to halt weeks of fighting. Bangkok said discussions were constructive and moving in a positive direction, while the meeting underscored China’s growing role as a regional mediator in Southeast Asian crises. The deal includes prisoner repatriation and commitments to avoid land mines, raising hopes for lasting stability.
