Transgender People: Why is it difficult to join the workforce?

According to 2011 census, there is a population of 4.88 lakh of transgender people in India. But not all of them find employment opportunities very easily. For many transgender people it is not just difficult to find jobs, retaining it can also be a challenge. In the expanding rainbow of the LGBTQ+ umbrella, transgender people are the most visible in everyday India. Also perhaps the most reviled by the public, they are seldom visible in professional settings, be it in private or public sector offices. We met a few transgender people to talk to them about what makes it difficult for them to be able to get employment opportunities.
