Iranian Army commander-in-chief Maj. Gen. Amir Hatami has announced a 5 billion toman reward—about $30,000—for anyone who kills or captures what Iran calls an “American aggressor” and hands the person over to Iranian military authorities. The pledge, made at a Tehran event on August 16, was presented as being supported by people seeking to contribute to “financial jihad,” with the Iranian Army guaranteeing payment.
