As the Iran war bleeds US forces and drains more than $11.3 billion in its first week, Washington is scrambling for cheaper firepower, reviving the long-abandoned electromagnetic railgun, pitching Trump-class “BBG(X)” battleships as future railgun platforms, and betting on hypersonic-speed projectiles to counter swarms of Iranian drones and missiles even as US jets, drones, and tankers are lost and President Trump insists America has already “won” but will not leave Iran “early.”
