UNGA: Oman warns Hormuz crisis is hitting global energy & trade, calls for dialogue over escalation

Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi strongly condemned what he called Israel’s continued attacks on Arab states and the “crimes of the Israeli occupation” against Palestinians. Oman said a war earlier in the year “could have been avoided” and that subsequent escalation threatened regional security while disrupting navigation and trade through the Strait of Hormuz. It warned of potential effects on energy security, price stability and confidence in the international order.
