U.S. Dumps ‘Punish Iran’ Pledge? Biden Says 'Not Looking For Wider War' Days After Revenge Promise

U.S. President Joe Biden has altered his tone on his pledge to "punish Iran" for the Jordan attack. On January 28, Biden promised an "appropriate response" to the killing of U.S. soldiers in Jordan. He claimed that Iran-backed militants in Syria and Iraq carried out the attack. Washington vowed to avenge the first-ever casualty for U.S. forces since the Gaza War began last October. However, now the U.S. President says that he is 'not looking' for 'wider war' in the Middle East.
