India and the European Union have sealed a sweeping free trade agreement that PM Narendra Modi has hailed as the “mother of all deals,” calling it a historic leap in their strategic partnership. Framing India and the EU as the world’s two largest democratic powers, Modi said the pact crowns years of negotiations and will push ties to “new heights” by opening markets, tightening supply chains and anchoring a more stable global order.
