Activist model rides bike underwater for climate change

Updated on Jun 11, 2017 09:10 am IST

An activist has attempted to cycle underwater to show how people will be forced to commute if sea levels continue to rise. Documentary maker Alison Teal, 30, mounted her bike in the shores of the Maldives – the lowest-lying country on earth - in a bid to highlight climate change. Footage shows the bikini-clad adventurer fighting to peddle her bike across the sand, against the weight of the water. Alison posted the sea stunt online last week after President Trump withdrew from the Paris Accord. Alison, from Hawaii, USA, said: “As a filmmaker and an environmentalist I decided to bike underwater in the Maldives, the lowest-lying country on earth, to show what will happen in less than a century if carbon emissions remain the same.
