America's oldest man, Richard Overton died at the age of 112 on December 27. The oldest World War II veteran of America breathed his last at a rehabilitation home in Texas. He had been hospitalised earlier this month with pneumonia. His status as the oldest living American veteran of WW II drew attention over the past few years. The street where he lived was renamed “Richard Overton Avenue” on his 111th birthday. He served in the US Army and was at Pearl Harbor just after the Japanese attack in 1941.
