Artist covers Rome rooftop with massive ‘calligraffiti’

A rooftop in southern Rome was given a makeover on June 15 when an artist covered it in calligraphy. 'Calligraffiti ambassador' Pokras Lampas took to the roof of the Palazzo Della Civilta Italiana (Square Colosseum) for the project. A video filmed by the artistic group 'F is for...' showed Lampas spinning and dancing as he sloshed yellow paint on the roof. He painted messages of courage, passion and freedom, 'F is for...' said. The Palazzo Della Civilta Italiana was originally a Fascist-era building project designed to be a landmark of dictator Benito Mussolini's rule. It was abandoned for decades before being used by Italian fashion company Fendi's Rome headquarters.
