China calls US move to blacklist Masood Azhar as ‘detrimental to peace’
Updated on Apr 01, 2019 09:50 pm IST
Days after the United States of America renewed its bid to impose sanctions on Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar, China criticised the move, stating it's detrimental to peace in South Asia. China had earlier placed a 'technical hold' on the listing of Masood Azhar in the United Nations' 1267 Committee. Masood Azhar's outfit was behind the Pulwama attack in February 2019, in which 40 Indian soldiers were martyred. Despite global outrage, China refused to allow blacklisting of Masood Azhar.
