China extends military drills near Taiwan; Continues ‘invasion rehearsal'

• China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has extended its unprecedented military exercise around Taiwan and is carrying out “island saturation attack drills” and “bomber deterrence flights”. This gigantic military drill by China is in response to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island nation last week. Chinese state media has described the exercise as a practice for blockading Taiwan and fulfilling the ultimate aim of invading the island to merge it with the mainland.
