- The United States has reiterated that the Russian government must immediately and unconditionally release Kremlin critic Alexey Navalny. Addressing the media, US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said that the US and its allies condemn the silencing of opponents in Russia and added they have treated the matter as extremely urgent. Putin's most prominent opponent has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in a penal colony for violating parole terms while in Germany recovering from a poisoning attack. ‘Our message is that Russia must release those detained for exercising their human rights. That includes Aleksey Navalny,’ Ned Price said. Watch the full video for all the details.
