Coronavirus: Toll rises, infection spreads; China claims ‘active’ response

Death toll due to a mystery virus rose in China even as the infection spread. China reported at least three deaths caused by the Coronavirus which is believed to have originated in Wuhan city. It is a 'novel' virus, which means that it was hitherto unknown. Number of cases in China have crossed 150, a majority being reported from Wuhan. Some cases have also been reported from Beijing, Guangdong and Zhejiang. Countries like the United States of America and India, have started screening travellers from China for the virus.
