Iran alleges failed US-Israeli plots to kill new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei

A dramatic new claim from Tehran is intensifying the Iran war narrative. Iranian officials say the United States and Israel attempted twice to assassinate Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly installed Supreme Leader, but both strikes failed. According to Iranian lawmakers, one attack hit the Supreme Leader’s compound and killed Ali Khamenei, while Mojtaba reportedly escaped. Another alleged strike targeted a hospital where Mojtaba was present. The claims come as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu openly warns Iran’s leadership that no one should expect “life insurance.” With leaders now in the crosshairs, the conflict is rapidly turning into a dangerous hunt for high-value targets.
