Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni drew parallels between the Russia-Ukraine war and Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Meloni arrived in Kyiv to preside over a G7 virtual meeting on the second anniversary of the Russian invasion. Speaking with Italy’s Il Giornale newspaper, Meloni said, "If Russia had not invaded Ukraine, in all likelihood, Hamas would not have launched such an attack against Israel."
